Sterling Heights Educated on DTV

On Thursday, June 12, MAB President Karole White and Director of Technology Larry Estlack, along with representatives from local stations, presented an educational program at the Sterling Heights Public Library. The presentation was a free service to the public, and about 60 Sterling Heights area residents attended the program.

The presentation included an overview on why television is transitioning to digital, who is affected and what it means to them. In addition, Estlack gave a very informative and easy to understand explanation of how to use a converter box, what types of antennas are available and what it all means to the average over-the-air viewer. The audience had many good questions and reinforced the need for continued public awareness on the DTV transition.

MAB has additional regional public education meetings scheduled this summer, and we invite representatives from area television stations to participate.

The MAB has speakers available to discuss the digital transition with your staff or community organization. Contact the MAB office for more information at 800-968-7622 or via email at mab@michmab.com.
